Awareness and Sensitization Workshop on User Experience & Design System: Transformation through UI/UX for Digital Governance

State Convention Centre, Bhubaneshwar, Odisha 12th - 13th May 2026

NIC Odisha, in association with the Centre for Modernizing Government Initiatives (CMGI), Government of Odisha, successfully organized two Awareness Workshops on User Experience and the UX4G Design System on 12th and 13th May 2025 at the State Convention Centre, Bhubaneswar.

The workshops witnessed active participation of 95+ senior officials from 40+ government departments. Attendees included decision-makers, UX/UI designers, developers, and technical teams involved in the development and enhancement of public web portals and mobile applications.

Distinguished dignitaries who addressed the workshops included: Shri Surendra Kumar Meena, IAS, Additional Secretary to Government, ST & SC Development, Minorities & Backward Classes Welfare Department and Executive Director, CMGI, Government of Odisha; Shri Debabrata Mallick, Additional Secretary, General Administration & Public Grievance Department, Government of Odisha;
Shri Debabrata Nayak, Chief Technology Officer, Digital India Corporation / National e-Governance Division (MeitY); and
Dr. Ashok Kumar Hota, Deputy Director General & State Informatics Officer, NIC Odisha.
The speakers from UX4G, NeGD emphasized the importance of adopting user-centric design principles and the widespread implementation of the UX4G Design System to enhance the quality of digital public services. The sessions featured insightful discussions, collaborative learning, and the showcase of the Odisha One App as a successful case study of citizen-first UX/UI implementation.
