The session commenced with orientation on the fundamentals of User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI), demonstrated through a live example of a G2C (Government to Citizen) portal. This was followed by an in-depth presentation on the UX4G project—its objectives, the value of UX/UI in digital governance, and the support systems available to states under the initiative.
Participants engaged with the UX Design Thinking process and were introduced to UX audit techniques for web and mobile applications, aimed at improving service accessibility and user satisfaction.
Post the tea break, the focus shifted to real-world application: a detailed case study of a G2C portal specific to Nagaland highlighted how user research and interface design directly address ground-level challenges. A key highlight was the live demonstration of the UX4G Design System and its digital library repository, showcasing how states can reuse UI components and patterns to accelerate development while maintaining consistency and accessibility
The workshop concluded with an open Q&A session and feedback from participants, followed by a valedictory address and certificate distribution. Throughout the day, the UX4G and NeGD teams facilitated an engaging and hands-on experience, emphasising that thoughtful UX/UI design plays a critical role in making digital governance more inclusive, intuitive, and effective for all citizens.
